Oli was awarded a winner in the hugely competitive ‘Personal Work’ category at the PDN for this series exploring people at crossroads.

Drawing inspiration from some of the pioneers for Chicago street photography; Harry Callahan and Ray Metzker, his new collection continues the long tradition of documenting people within urban environments. The series was shot over a 12 month period across multiple US cities; LA, Miami, San Francisco, Chicago, New Orleans, Houston, New York and Atlanta.

With his shoestring budget, Oli stayed in hostels and spent his days walking the city streets with a minimal kit, to discover the subtle differences between people and places. Driven by the endless chance and a prevalent political crossroads for the American people.

We are all looking forward to the ceremony on the 25th June!

Oli is the Grand Prize winner with ‘Roosevelt Cable Car’ at this year’s PDN New York.

Taken from the Queensborough bridge through a gap in the wire mesh just large enough for a lens. It is accompanied by ‘Taxis and Man’ which also made it into the show.

We are proud to celebrate Erik Almas & Marco Walker as WINNERS! of the PDN Personal category.

Erik Almas’s “The Crash” (Image 1) is a personal project about a break-up.   Shot in two parts: on location and the studio.
