New personal project from Rob Lawson.
With the ambition of creating visuals that drench its audience, Rob uses a macro lens and gets super up close and personal with the drinks. Smoke machines, olives, and a few well-timed splashes later, Rob stops to repeat the process with another mixer.
Seedlip commissioned Rob for a series of creatively indulgent imagery.
The project for this non-alcoholic distilled drink was imaginatively titled ‘Enough is Enough’. It hones in on ‘boring’ consumer habits when avoiding alcohol, and suggests the audience demands more without sacrifice.
The explosive imagery places a quirky spin on some everyday non-alcoholic options.
Rob shot this series of dark images from a bar corner for Don Papa. Using spotlights and a layering technique, Rob intensifies the colour of liquid and intensity of shadows.
Macallan commissioned Rob for a series of images to promote Macallan 12 & 18-year-old blends. The bar lounge location was selected to portray a lighter spirit with excellent length. Rob and the team used the lighting set up to create extra interest through the use of flare & rays.
JWT – New York commissioned Rob for the new Grand Marnier campaign.
The team spent two days in London bars capturing signature Grand Marnier cocktails, beginning with the Grand Sidecar. Also on the hit list was; Grand Collins, Grand Margarita, Grand Tonic, Grand Man Tai and Grand Old Fashioned.
5cc in Farringdon and The Kennsington’s K-Bar played host to the shoot, each boasting a grand atmosphere in their own right. But for added dynamism, the bar talent had to place the finishing touches across all cocktails.
Rob was commissioned by Macallan to create a series of lifestyle drinks images from a bar location. Heavy shadows were layered into the scenes to portray the depth and flavor of a 50 or 40-year-old bottle of Macallan. #GoodThingsComeToThoseWhoWait
To celebrate summer and their new campaign, Tanqueray commissioned Rob for a series of slick serves. They also captured something a bit more bubbly in the shape of a lime falling through liquid… G&T anyone?!
The creative behind this shoot was all about, heritage, nature and maintaining a connection with your origins.
With this in mind, Rob photographed bottles and serves in situ. Campfires, picnics, and rock pools are but a few of the places the team ventured to capture Jura’s familiarity.
Rob made haste to Portugal with Drambuie for a new lifestyle drinks campaign on rooftops and by the sea. The warmer climate was a welcome change in the peak of winter.
Rob Lawson was awarded a bronze medal at the One Eyeland awards for this series exploring the tiny world inside mixers.
Rob designed the series to intrigue and emphasise the craft of making a ‘proper’ cocktail. The series was also awarded a winner at the 2017 AOP awards.
