It’s always been important to Elise that she works with a wide variety of age groups – so she was delighted to work with a cast of older women for this recent beauty campaign. As per usual, she ran the casting days herself to ensure natural beauty was at the heart of the selection.
Sunday Times Style commissioned Beate to photograph Retinol in a way that drew on the design of the product.
With this in mind, Beate created an abstract visualisation for the product using multi-layered perspex, cut with holes. ‘Retinoids work by prompting surface skin cells to turn over and die rapidly, making way for new cell growth underneath different surface layers of the skin.’
Beate uses light refractions in the latest Lumene campaign. The still life images draw on mineral elements and feature alongside the beauty images.
L’Oreal commissioned Peter for a series of creative images that incorporated liquid movements for Garner hair colour.
Peter took the notion of hydration and exploited the opportunity to create some fluid art!
Peter shows a whole new side in the latest commission for ‘Pink Paprika’. Sat upon pixilated surroundings, this shoe photography is stark in contrast to his series influenced by the old masters.
The Sunday Times Style asked Beate Sonnenberg to photograph the newest hair range from Sisley.
With the new product being all about ‘Health & Hair’, Beate created a futuristic/medical look reminiscent of 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Beate’s latest personal project explores surface tension. The balance between liquid and solid merging.
– Beate –
“I was exploring how the combination of different liquids, textures and powders can create suspended/abstract moments in time:
Much like how a water-boatman walks on water. There is a fine line between the surface tension and that of the water droplets breaking.”
For both images, the team decided to hint at the colourful tones. This has been achieved through mirrors & light, the packaging is even worked in as a structural element to the scene.
This month Vogue relaunches itself with Editor ‘Edward Emminful’ leading the charge.
