Hailing from Germany, Beate (pronounced Bee-yaa-teh) moved to the UK in 1990 to study photography at Bournemouth College of Art & Design.
She then went off travelling and settled for six years in Mexico City where she honed her photography skills and met her future husband, also a photographer.
They moved back to London in 2002 and she set up her studio in Dalston.
Beate embraced moving image as soon as she could and has produced some beautiful and evocative 'breathing stills' as well as a couple of short mood films.
Awards include a Clio 2008 Print Gold & Silver and a Cannes Lions 2007 Press Bronze.
If not taking photographs and filming, she can be found practicing her other passion, Ashtanga yoga, in the middle of the studio floor!
